Miriel, the most beautiful of the Numenorean women

Miriel, Numenor Princess, the only daughter of Palantir and Silwen, mother of Varaneli, ascended the throne in the year 3255 of the Second Age. Note, in the speech of the Numenoreans, also with the name of Ar-Zimraphel. A woman of great beauty and acute intelligence, she entered into a tormented sentimental relationship with Erfea, interrupted by her painful choice to marry her cousin and usurper Pharazon to the throne. Miriel perished in the sinking of Numenor. It appears in the following stories: The Sailor and the Lord of Endore; The Sailor and the Princess; The Sailor and the White Tree; The Rose and the Harp; The infamous oath.
